Hi, I’m Bre Lymath.

Welcome to therapy. My heart is to help individuals and couples work through experiences that have left them stuck in negative cycles of relating to themselves, others, and the world. My hope is to provide a sense of safety that empowers people to pursue the peace and healing they desire. I want to be a helping hand and listening ear because I know that when we feel heard, seen, and known, we have the ability to truly thrive.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 109434) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC 9539) certified in EMDR, that specializes in working with individuals and couples. More specifically, I have extensive experience working with individuals, families, couples, and children that have experienced severe trauma, adjustments, and attachment ruptures.

I am also passionate about assisting first responders as they work through job-related stress that impacts their functioning on and off the job, as well as providing a safe place to support parents who feel overwhelmed, frustrated, and burnt out.

Services

  • Individual Therapy

Is anxiety making it harder to show up to life? Are you going through a life-adjustment or feeling overwhelmed and alone?

Have you experienced trauma that keeps you feeling triggered and unable to move forward? Are you frustrated with your relationships—feeling misunderstood and exhausted?

Individual therapy is an opportunity to pursue self-care and strength by pressing into the healing process. As individuals press into the healing process, mental and emotional freedom can be experienced by discovering and working through the hard places that make it difficult to be present, pursue life goals, and develop healthy relationships. My desire is to provide individuals with tangible tools as well as space to feel heard, seen, and known as they dig deep and walk through their healing journey.

  • First Responders

Do you feel you need to avoid and compartmentalize your emotions and experiences in order to make it through the day, to maintain a certain external self-image, or because you are supposed to be able to handle what you’ve experienced because you “signed up for this?” Or maybe you’ve held in your emotions for so long you fear that if you open up now the pain will never stop, and it will be unbearable. If you’re reading this maybe you can relate. My passion for first responders is personal in nature. I have multiple family members and friends in various capacities as first responders, and have heard and been witness to how experiences as a first responder can impact the individual as well as close relationships. My heart is to create a space for first responders to be heard, validated, and supported as they process difficult experiences.

Compartmentalizing and avoiding emotions and painful memories can work temporarily, and can assist in completing necessary tasks in an emergency or crisis. However, over time compartmentalizing and avoiding can often lead to increased stress, anxiety, anger, short temperedness, difficulty concentrating, sleep trouble, and exhaustion. This in turn can create issues in work performance, family relationships, and in other significant relationships. Few things are more life-giving than helping those who work so hard to protect and save others receive the support and relief they deserve and need.

  • Couples

In couples therapy, I come alongside couples to help them gain deeper understanding of, and reorganize, the negative patterns and cycles of relating that keep them feeling stuck and frustrated. I assist them learn ways to strengthen their attachment bond, improve emotional responses, and enhance their attunement to each other. By working with couples to identify the negative patterns, emotions, unmet needs, and attachment issues that lead to conflict, couples can learn to be more emotionally available, engaged, and empathetic. My desire is to provide couples with a safe place to engage in the vulnerable and tough work of therapy in order to experience a revived sense of love, trust, and comfort in their relationship. It is truly exciting to watch couples step into new ways of relating to each other, and to feel known and seen by each other once again.

  • Therapy and Support for Parents

I have extensive experience working with biological parents, foster parents, adoptive parents, and kinship caregivers. Historically, my role in working with parents has been as a trauma-informed and attachment-based therapist, educator, and advocate. I have focused on assisting parents support their children as they work through traumatic experiences, attachment issues, and other emotional and behavioral concerns. My experience working with parents as a trauma-informed and attachment-based therapist has allowed me to understand and fully believe in the power of providing parents with space to be heard, to process, and to be supported as they are met with feelings of inadequacy, isolation, and unconscious expectations. It has been, and continues to be, an honor and privilege to walk alongside parents as they navigate the busyness, stress, hardships, and the joys of life all while doing their best to provide a safe and nurturing environment for their child.
